This is Pike & Dagger

Hi I’m Jed, the proprietor and artist at Pike & Dagger. After years of art as a hobby I am so grateful to be able to pursue my passion for painting as a career. The miniature community - from Warhammer to D&D - has been an incredible place for inspiration and support. I love connecting with my clients, discussing ideas and bringing their visions to life.

A little background on me. I was born and raised in northern Minnesota in 1997. In 2010, a coworker at my parents pizza restaurant brought in his Ork collection to show off. I was enthralled and immediately became interested in the hobby. I started with a small Tyranid army, painting them (poorly) in the red and black of Hive Fleet Leviathan. From there I discovered that the local games store sold LOTR miniatures and started to purchase and paint them for use in games of D&D. After that I just started painting whatever I could get my hands on until going off to college to become an accountant. In my early 20s I got married and spent some time living in Colorado and Florida before settling down in even more northern Minnesota. It was here that I finally achieved my dream of finishing school and getting a job as an accountant! Unfortunately, I hated it and couldn't do it for longer than a few months. It was during this time that I took up painting again, deciding to sell my art online as a way to fund my hobby. It wasn’t long before I saw moderate success, and eventually Pike & Dagger was born. I am now a full time commission painter and find myself doing far more accounting work than I ever wanted, but it’s worth it to be able to do what I love.
